The Idol will premiere on HBO and its streaming service, Max (formerly HBO Max), on June 4, 2023, at 6:00 p.m. Some Netflix titles we recommend checking out are Orange Is the New Black, Black Mirror, Bloodline, Russian Doll, House of Cards, FUBAR, The Diplomat, The Lincoln Lawyer and You. Although Netflix doesn’t have a show similar to The Idol on its platform, we still recommend checking out the streamer’s extensive drama section. You’ll have to look elsewhere to stream this drama series. Unfortunately, Netflix is not the streaming service where you’ll be able to watch The Idol. The rest of the cast is made up of Suzanna Son, Troye Sivan, Jennie Ruby Jane, Moses Sumney, Jane Adams, Dan Levy, Eli Roth, Rachel Sennott, and many others. Lily-Rose Depp stars in the leading role as Jocelyn, while Abel Tesfaye plays Tedros, the self-help guru/cult leader/Jocelyn’s love interest. The story follows an aspiring pop star named Jocelyn, who, after undergoing a nervous breakdown that derails her last tour, works to reinvent herself as the greatest and sexiest pop star in America and begins a romance with a self-help guru who is also a cult leader.
